Albritton Law Firm represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of civil matters, primarily in federal court, as well as defendants charged with federal and state crimes.

A large portion of the firm’s civil trial practice involves the representation of plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement actions pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. But, the firm’s civil docket is not limited to patent infringement actions. The firm also has represented parties in trademark and copyright infringement actions, business disputes, and cases involving business torts, commercial disparagement, misappropriation of trade secrets and tortious interference with contract.

The criminal portion of the firm's docket involves the representation of defendants charged with committing federal and state crimes. For instance, the firm has represented defendants charged with committing the following federal crimes: arson, fraud, drug possession and conspiracy, computer crimes, and unlawful possession of firearms. Similarly, the firm has represented defendants charged in state court with committing violent crimes, including murder and aggravated assault, intoxication-related offenses, sex offenses drug and firearm possession and fraud. Additionally, the firm represents death-sentenced inmates in federal habeas corpus actions.

The strength of the firm is the breadth of experience.

Eric M. Albritton, who clerked at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, has tried numerous cases in federal and state court, including, a patent infringement action and numerous federal criminal cases. Additionally, Mr. Albritton has argued appeals at the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Federal and Fifth Circuits, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (Texas' highest criminal court), and numerous Texas intermediate appellate courts.

J. Scott Hacker, who clerked at the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, has also tried many cases, both as an Assistant United States Attorney and an Assistant District Attorney.
