Eric M. Albritton graduated first in his class from the College of Arts & Sciences at Baylor University, where he was elected into Phi Beta Kappa and named Outstanding Senior Man. He attended the University of California at Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), where he was Managing Editor of Ecology Law Quarterly.

After graduating in 1994, he served as a law clerk for one year to the Honorable William Wayne Justice, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and then as a law clerk for one year to Honorable Henry A. Politz, then-Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for Fifth Circuit.

Mr. Albritton is a civil and criminal trial and appellate lawyer. He has tried, as lead counsel, many different types of cases, ranging from patent infringement cases for plaintiffs and defendants to murder. He has had enormous success, obtaining judgments for plaintiffs exceeding $1 Billion and many not guilty verdicts.

Similarly, he has argued many different kinds of cases on appeal and in numerous courts, including, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Federal Circuits and numerous Texas Courts of Appeal.

In 2011, Mr. Albritton was one of three people recommended to the President of the United States for appointment as a United States District Judge in the Eastern District of Texas. He has been listed as a Super Lawyer since 2009 (and before that as a Rising Star for two years).

Mr. Albritton is President of the Eastern District Bar Association, President of the Honorable T. John Ward American Inn of Court and Third Vice President of the Northeast Texas Bar Association. Additionally, he served a three year term as a member of the Local Rules Advisory Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and several terms as a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association. He has also served in leadership roles in local non-profits and his church.

He is the author of two law review articles, has spoken at various seminars and has been a guest commentator on Court TV.

Mr. Albritton is admitted to practice in the states of Texas and Colorado, all United States District Court in Texas and Arkansas, the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fifth, Sixth and Federal Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.

Most importantly, Mr. Albritton is a husband and father of two children.
