Eric M. Albritton
Eric M. Albritton is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of civil cases, including, but not limited to, business/commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury, and patent infringement litigation. Mr. Albritton’s patent infringement docket has included representation of patent holders and accused infringers, including, individual inventors, patent assertion entities, patent pools and some of the world's largest technology companies, and has involved diverse technologies, including, for example, cellular communications, video compression and medical devices, and Standard Essential Patents.
In addition to his civil docket, Mr. Albritton has represented witnesses and defendants in state and federal criminal matters, and he maintained a very robust pro bono practice. Mr. Albritton, for instance, represented a death sentenced inmate in state and federal habeas actions for more than two decades resulting in the commutation of his death sentence to life in prison.
Mr. Albritton has been trial counsel in more than 65 jury trials and has argued in numerous courts of appeals (including, for example, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for Fifth and Federal Circuits) and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Albritton is AV rated, has been listed as a Texas Super Lawyer since 2009, is a member ABOTA and the Texas Verdicts Hall of Fame, and is a Past President of the T. John Ward Inn of Court and the Eastern District of Texas Bar Association.
Mr. Albritton is the owner of Paracletus Management, LLC (www.paracletus.com), where he, and his team, assist patent holders with patent management and monetization.
Mr. Albritton graduated first in his class from Baylor University, where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and named Outstanding Senior Man. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of Ecology Law Quarterly. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable William Wayne Justice of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the Honorable Henry A. Politz, then-Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
